PSE Archer kevin stone named to TEAM USA
for Beijing Paralympic Summer Games

2004 Paralympic Archery Team bronze medalist, and Team PSE member Kevin Stone, has just been named to his second consecutive TEAM USA for the largest athletic event in the world this summer in Beijing, China.

While training at the ARCO US Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California, Kevin received the ultimate news he had been waiting for ever since he earned the US the right to compete in Beijing last fall at the World Championships in South Korea; that the slot he earn was in fact now his. This is his second time being on the “largest athletic team in US history” since TEAM USA 2004 for Athens. “I am so stoked about going to China this year; you have no idea! I have total faith in my equipment, my form, my attitude, and my team. This is going to be a highly competitive year.”

Stone, a retired/disabled US Army veteran, has been serving his country since 1982. Beginning at the IPC World championships in Madrid in 2003, Stone has been on 6 National, 3 World, and now 2 Paralympic teams. “Still representing!” he proclaims as he continues to wear a US uniform for his 23rd year. “I never felt good about retiring from the service the way I did, but I couldn’t be prouder than I am now. I finally feel like I’ve honored my commitments to our country”.

Winning 1 Paralympic medal, 2 cups (international and domestic), 9 indoor/outdoor championship titles, and a Mid-Atlantic Silver; Stone now holds 17 of the 22 national records within his classification and hopes to close out the other 5 prior to going to Beijing. “I have total faith in my X-factors. Their tune and cycle is perfect and have performed beyond my expectations; I can’t wait to carry them onto the Finals field in China”. Kevin has been shooting PSE bows his entire competitive career starting with a Bulls Eye, working his way thru the Impala and Intrepid, to final clinching a historic Team Medal in Athens with his first X-Factors.

Joining Kevin in Beijing will be returning 2004 Paralympians Lindsey Carmichael, Jeff Fabry, and Chuck Lear. New teammates Joe Bailey, Eric Bennett, Tom Pemberton, and Russell Wolf will round out the largest Paralympic Archery Team the US has ever taken to a Summer Games.
