PSE Pro Staff Shooter Jennifer Nichols dominated the 3rd round of the 2008 Olympic Team Trials held May 2-4, 2008 at Ben Avery Shooting Facility in Phoenix, Arizona, earning her spot to the Olympic Games starting August 8th, 2008 in Beijing, China. This will be Jennifer’s second trip to the Games.

Jennifer dominated the 3rd leg of the nomination process from start to finish. Day one finished with Jennifer in first place for the 144 arrows shot at 70m. On day two the competitors shot a single elimination tournament starting from their rankings from day one. Jennifer won all three matches for a first place finish. The eight finalists shot a seven match round robin tournament on day three with ranking points awarded for winning matches as well as ranking points for shooting certain scores. By the lunch break on the third day Jennifer Nichols had mathematically guaranteed her position on the shooting line in Beijing.

Eight men and eight women earned the right to compete at the 3rd round of the Olympic Trials Nomination Tournament. Of the sixteen competitors, five of them were PSE Staff Shooters. On the women’s side, Lori Cieslinski, Kendra Harvey (2004 Olympic Team Alternate), and Dawn Chudy joined Jennifer Nichols. Dr. Staten Holmes proudly represented PSE on the men’s side of the field. They earned the right to compete at this tournament at the 2 nd round of the Trials, which was held in Chula Vista, California on April 1-6, 2008. PSE shooters Amanda Nichols, Ashley First, Nicole Rasor, Erin Mickelberry and Phyllis Shipman were among the sixteen men and sixteen women who were invited to compete in that event.

Jennifer Nichols will be competing in Beijing as an individual. Khatuna Lorig will be joining Jennifer in Beijing on the women’s line. The US Men’s Olympic Archery Team will be comprised of Brady Ellison, Butch Johnson and Victor Wunderle. Jennifer will also be joined in Beijing by PSE teammates and paralympians Kevin Stone and Joe Bailey.
